Have been tied up with lots of projects recently. There's UCCD religion project to do. I went to Paya Labar Methodist Girl's Primary School with Chow Xuan for the church service to do a survey there. I nearly took the green line mrt all the way to Paya Lebar! oh my tian, turns out the primary school is only in Kovan near my house! The service is actually held in the school hall, and the worshipers are mainly made up of families, very few youngsters. And since that day was Mother's Day, the kids had to present carnations to their mother. Man, so sweet lah, see mother and child hugging:) UCCD PROJ deadline: 26 may
We also have Sales and Selling Management project, gotta interview a salesperson. The last time Rach and i went to a shop in Funan IT Mall. Rach knows one guy there, so maybe can do the selling process analysis on him. We observed him serving a customer, and found that he was PERFECT, as in there's nothing to complain about him, so the recommendations for the salesperson very hard for us to do. haha, anyway it's not fair to find someone we know to interview lah.
Then there's another salesperson around, so we did the observation on him. Found out he's also an SP graduate in some IT course.
We were voice-recording him while he spoke (of course we hide our handphones la). At one point we were discussing wad are the free gifts he can offer if we buy the laptop, then he ask his supervisor. Since that person ~pakat with us, he offer us a lot of things like free mouse and thumbdrive. Then rach ask for one more Canon printer, damn too much lah! hahaha Then that person say ok, the printer give us free, then i saw the SP guy had this confused and shocked face hahaha. He must wondering like why the supervisor sot sot already, give so many free stuff! Yah, at last the SP guy found out we were testing him lah, and he was quite pissed lor. It was fun testing his sales skills lol
SSM PROJ report deadline: 23 May
Today during MR lecture, Mrs Alice Tang went through the guidelines for MR project which is due 29 may! omg 3 projects now. Gotta rush already. The interesting thing that happened during MR lect was there's free Quaker's popcorn snack for everyone, sponsored by an SP graduate who works for the Quaker's company. So Shiok! There was enough for everyone, each person can like take one carton home lor hahaha. I was munching away on it, using Aaron's head as cover hahaha. Alice Tang's lecture cannot eat anything one what.. kena caught sure ~si.
Yesterday, SP guitarists had a performance at SP Amphitheatre, so i had to perform. Had to miss SSM lecture, but got LOA, so its ok. It was freakin raining lah, so there weren't many ppl watching, but quite satisfied lah. At least there weren't major screw-ups. The pop band section was cool. I'm not in the pop band section. It was cool watching the guys perform. Swee Lin was good at the drums. There's one senior (i dunno his name ><), before this i assumed he looked very innocent and guai guai, but on the stage he was a different person. Damn funny lah. He even gave the *twiz sign to the photographer while singing. Lol. Ok, i heard this weird and amusing rumour from someone in SPG , but it doesn't matter anymore cos the person involved has graduated, so it's alright.
After reading something really disturbing and heart-aching on a blog, i think i don't stand a chance anymore. It's hard to let go, especially when that feeling lasted for more than a year. But the fact is a fact. I should move on. After lectures, i saw you walk by. I saw you staring at me. Maybe i'm just day-dreaming. Forget it, just go ahead and live your life. I don't even know you in the first place. Some jokes taken off the JobsCentral eNewsletter to brighten up your few minutes stay at my blog :)
Reality check
Reaching the end of a job interview, the Human Resources person asked a young applicant fresh out of Business School, "So what starting salary are you looking for?"
The applicant said, "Around $100,000 a year, depending on the benefits package."
The interviewer said, "Well, what would you say to 20 days of paid leave, full medical and dental, the company matching your retirement fund to 50% of your salary, and a company car leased every two years - say, a red Suzuki Swift?"
The applicant sat up straight and said, "Wow! Are you kidding?"
And the interviewer replied, "Yeah, but you started it."
Imagine
Several weeks after a young man had been hired, he was called into the personnel manager's office.
"What is the meaning of this?" the manager asked. "When you applied for the job, you told us you had 5 years' experience. Now we discover this is the first job you've ever had."
"Well," the young man said, "in your ad you said you wanted somebody with imagination."
Sweeping statements
A young man was hired by a supermarket and reported for his first day of work. The manager greeted him with a warm handshake and a smile, then gave him a broom and said,
"Your first job will be to sweep out the store."
"But I'm a college graduate," the young man replied indignantly.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realise that," said the manager. "Here, give me the broom, I'll show you how."
